6. IKAN TERUBUK MASIN


Ikan Terubuk Masin - This salted fish was catched in fresh water over Sarawak. A various type of fish like the Tilapia, which incidentally is the most widely catch by the local people. The salted ikan terubok was made from Ikan Terubuk that was dry on the sun for a few day. This Ikan Terubuk Masin was sold in markets around Sarawak.
 

5. DABAI


Dabai - It is a seasonal fruit. It only can be found once a year. The skin of the fruit is black while the flesh is yellow in colour. It origin from Sibu, Sarawak. The seed is also yellow and diamond shaped. The Dabai is a hard fruit but when you soaked for 10-15 minutes in semi hot water with a bit of salt, it becomes soft and the texture becomes like dates. It taste just nice and you should try for it.
 

4. UMAI


Umai- The Umai is traditionally a standard lunch meal for the Melanau fisherman.  Thin layer of raw fresh fish, usually iced, combined with thinly slice onions, chili, salt and juice from sour fruits like lime or assam to prepare this dish.  The dish is usually accompanied by a bowl of toasted sago and is so simple that fishermen prepare it easily on their boats. 
 

3. KOLO MEE


Kolo Mee-  A bowl of piping hot Kolo mee(Mee Kolok) is just the thing to start your day. It was a very common food in Sarawak. You can find it all over Sarawak. This delicious noodle consists of lard, some sauce and black vinegar.  A common enough dish found in Sarawak, the Kolok Mee is available for breakfast, lunch and even for supper. Every one of us can try a bowl of kolo mee and i believe that you will want more after finish it.
